Our Rich and Bold History
Sprouting from the Temple of UniTea as a fledgling of creative expression, the Church of Love found its genesis amidst the desert's shifting sands at Burning Man 2016, embodying the principles of inclusivity, creativity, and communal support.
In March 2020, amidst global uncertainty, the Church of Love established a sanctuary that quickly became the heart and soul of our community. It's here, in North Phoenix, that our tapestry of shared journeys is woven, a vibrant tableau of love, art, music, and sustainability, welcoming all who seek connection and meaning in the rhythm of life.
Our new home, the Pocket Universe, stands as a Beacon of Defiance and Charm – the only white building in a sea of beige Architectural Guidelines conformity, much to the disdain of the representatives of Mountaingate HOA.
Our founder, The Reverend Dr. h.c. Thomas "Beacon" Kaufmann, was ordained by the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and received his Doctor of Metaphysics degree from the Universal Life Church. Legend has it that when he laid eyes on this rebellious canvas, it was love at first sight.
The building's heavenly, non-pigmented facade is an unintended symbol of our commitment to standing out and serves as a bold reminder to our mantra:
